The Seekirchl, romantic landmark of Seefeld
Other “must-sees” in Seefeld include the Sankt Oswald church and our delightful Seekirchl. The small church, also known as the Holy Cross Church, is the secret landmark of Seefeld. We are proud of our octagonal, baroque jewel from 1666. In winter, cross-country ski trails run right past the Kirchl. In summer, you can stroll comfortably from here to the nearby sports facilities of the World Cup.
Parish Church of St. Oswald in Seefeld
Those who like to visit churches, shouldn’t miss out on our parish church St. Oswald in the center of Seefeld. For a long time, this splendid late Gothic building was one of the most famous pilgrimage churches in Tyrol because of its “miracle of the wafers”. Other sights include the Seefelder Jochbahn, the Olympic Center as well as the Way of the Cross with a stone circle for a historical hike.
Peace bell in Mösern, Tyrol
A very special hiking trail can be reached from Seefeld in just five minutes by car. It leads to the imposing peace bell. Its sound can be heard across three national borders. The bell weighs over 10 tons. The clapper alone weighs over 500 kilograms. With a height of 2.51 meters and a diameter of 2.54 meters, it is the largest free-swinging bell in the Alps. The bell rings every day at 5 p.m. A sound that stands for peace and good neighborliness in the tri-border region of Austria, Germany and Italy.
